PNK is a Sponsored Project of the Allied Media Projects.

Resilient Communities at New America and Andy Gunn initially created PNK to serve as mobile emergency connectivity and repair kits for the partners of Resilient Networks NYC, a project bringing community wireless mesh networks to 5 Superstorm Sandy-impacted neighborhoods. Each of these neighborhoods will be building a wireless mesh network in early 2018: The Point (Hunts Point, Bronx); RDRC (Far Rockaway, Queens); Fifth Avenue Committee (Gowanus, Brooklyn); Kings Bay Y (Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn); Silicon Harlem (East Harlem, Manhattan).

In Puerto Rico, the first PNK partner will be Project Enlace, an organization in San Juan that works with 8 flood-prone environmental justice communities alongside the Martín Peña Channel, along with many other volunteer organizers and technologists from the Puerto Rico diaspora.

We would also like to thank Caracol Interpreters Cooperative for their translation services.

Please DONATE below to support PNK in Puerto Rico.

Resilient Communities, a program of New America, has initiated, managed, and led the Resilient Networks NYC through project implementation with the support of NYCEDC’s RISE: NYC program. Resilient Communities works in partnership with the Detroit Community Technology Project and follows the Principles of the Detroit Digital Justice Coalition: Access, Participation, Common Ownership, and Healthy Communities. RC and our NYC partners are proud to release open documentation of PNK under the leadership of the Allied Media Projects.
